Passage:  Colossians 1:9-12

Main Point: Knowing God better makes life better.

I. Knowing God’s will is vital for growing. (v 9)
            A. Paul prays that they will learn about God.
            B. Learning involves wisdom not just facts.
            C. Learning about God is spiritual understanding.

II. The fruit of knowledge about God is bearing fruit. (v 10)
            A. By pleasing God we bear fruit.  (Galatians 5:22)
            B. By walking worthy we grow in knowledge.

III. God does all this by His power. (v 11-14)d
            A. Strength for a changed life comes from God.
            B. We endure and we wait with joy.
            C. We get the big picture enough to say thanks.   (Ephesians 6:12)
