Passage:  Romans 5:1-5

Main Point:  Our hope is based on God’s love not human emotion.

I. We rejoice in God’s glory.  (1-2)
            A. We have peace with God by declaration.
            B. We are granted access to ongoing grace.
            C. We stand boasting in the glory of God.

II. We rejoice in our trials and difficulties.  (3-4)
            A. Our trials will produce perseverance.
            B. Our endurance will yield maturity.
            C. Our maturity will produce hope.

III. God’s hope does not disappoint.  (5)
            A. Hope can disappoint.
            B. Hope in God is secured by His Holy Spirit.
