Passage:  Exodus 34:5-7

Main Point:  Jesus satisfies the justice of God.

I. There is a penalty for breaking God’s laws.
            A. Justice is required to punish disobedience.
            B. Justice ensures that obedience is rewarded.
            C. Justice ensures that no one is favored.

II. God’s justice is taught in the Bible.
            A. He will not leave the guilty unpunished.
            B. He will punish the evil.
            C. The punishment for sin is death.

III. Jesus has satisfied the justice of God.
            A. We are guilty of breaking God’s Law.
            B. The penalty for sin falls on us.
            C. Christ is our substitute for what we deserve.  (Romans 5:8)
