Passage:  Genesis 19

Main Point:  Continually cast off the cravings the world and run to Jesus.

I. Friendship with God begins with believing His message.  (v.1-14)
            A. Archaeology keeps proving the Bible to be true.  (Romans 12:1-2)
            B. Lot was in Sodom, and Sodom was in Lot’s.  (Ezekiel 16:48)
            C. Repent: God calls me to leave my sin.
            D. Sin destroys mental ability and social credibility.

II. Repentance is a lifestyle. (v.15-26)
            A. Don’t linger over what is already lost.
            B. God’s grace does not depend upon my ability.
            C. Failure to repent results in death.

III. Decisions have forever-consequences. (v.27-38)
            A. Lot was saved “but only as through fire”.  (1 Corinthians 3:15)
            B. Fear leads to isolation and stupid decisions.
            C. Faith in God puts an end to “enemy” status.  (James 4:4)
