Passage:  Nehemiah 2:7-20

Main Point:  Obstacles are opportunities for my faith in God to grow.

I. When we walk in faith, we will meet with opposition. (9-10)
         A. I walk in confidence knowing my King is for me.
         B. I need to root my identity in God who cannot be shaken.  (2 Corinthians 4:8-10)

II. Faith and character are shaped behind the scenes. (11-16)
            A. God is mine and my mission is His.
            B. Sin’s destruction is difficult to navigate.  (Deuteronomy 28:52)
            C. Take time to understand the mission field.

III. Faith begins with responding to what God has done. (17-20)
            A. Testimonies encourage others to trust God.  (Lamentations 5:1)
            B. Trials are opportunities to trust God more”.
            C. Satan’s best weapon is deception.
            D. My best weapon is knowing the truth.  (Isaiah 40:30)
