Passage:  Joshua 1:1-9

Main Point:  God encourages you to walk forward in faith, not fear.

I. God encourages you to believe.  (cf. Numbers 13-14)
            A. Barriers to faith are fear and the flesh.
            B. Faith does not look back.

II. God gives us Jesus to follow. (v.1-6)
            A. God gave Israel victory through Joshua.  (cf. Deuteronomy 18)
            B. Don’t give in to defeatism or victimhood.
            C. Faith looks like “go”.

III. God encourages us through the written Word (v.7-9)
            A. The Bible tells stories of broken people healed by grace.
            B. Decide to stop worrying and walk in faith.
