Passage:  1^st John 2:28-3:3

Main Point:  Daily dependence on Jesus results in confident hope for eternity.

I.  I want to boast in what the Lord has done at His return. (v28)
            A. The command is to continue on in Christ.
            B. Jesus will return.
            C. Some believers will be ashamed before Jesus.
            D. The key to having confidence then is abiding now.

II.  The wonderful love of God keeps me abiding in Him. (v.29-3:3)
            A. Being born of God should result in real life change.
            B. Take a moment to consider the Father’s love.
            C. I will see Jesus and God’s work in me will be done.
            D. Hope in Jesus and gain the great expectation of resurrection.
