Passage:  Matthew 1:22-23; Isaiah 7 & 9

Main Point:  God’s plan to be with his people is fulfilled in the Messiah, Jesus.

I. Saving us from sin’s death-grip has always been God’s plan.
            A. All sin is punished, but grace is offered.
            B. The result of sin is spiritual blindness and death.

II. The key to God’s salvation plan is faith in the Savior.
            A. Ahaz’s worry led him to trust man instead of God.
            B. You have access to the God of the impossible.
            C. To be with God is the definition of salvation. (cf. John 17:3)
            D. The disquieted soul finds peace with Jesus.
