Passage:  1 Thessalonians 5:12-15

Main Point:  The church family is marked by a sacrificial love that comes from Jesus.

I. Praise the Lord for those  who serve as church leaders. (v.12)
            A. The work is hard.
            B. The weight of my spiritual well-being is entrusted to them.
                        cf. Hebrews 13:17
            C. The job of teaching, reminding and rebuking is not for all.

II. Cultivate the proper attitude toward church leaders. (12-13)
            A. Recognize and appreciate the role of leadership.
            B. Our leaders do a work of love, and we love them for that.
            C. Dissention destroys the unity of the body of Christ.

III. Patience is the key ingredient to Christlike love.  (v.14-15)
            A. We are called to be active in ministry.
            B. We are commanded to encourage.
            C. We must help some learn to walk with Christ.
            D. We always forgive and chase after doing good for others.
