Passage:  Matthew 6:1-4

Main Point:  God is the only One Who’s approval is worth having.

I. Practice your righteousness before God.
            A. We are called to do good works.
            B. So help someone in need.
                        1.  Watch a child for a parent suddenly called away.
                        2.  Help in community service projects.
                        3.  Pick up groceries for a shut-in.

II. But do not do this simply to be seen by others.
            A. Don’t blab this to others to impress them.
            B. It is enough that God knows.

III. Do your giving in secret.
            A. Don’t let the left hand know what the right hand is doing.
            B. Your Father who sees in secret has His reward.
