Passage:  Mark 12:28-34

Main Idea:  Worship God by loving Him and loving others as He loved you.

I. Keep the main thing the main thing.  (28)
            A. Don’t be divisive over details.  (cf. 2 Timothy 2:14)
            B. Seeing the big picture helps me select the right priorities.
                  (cf. Matthew 23:23)

II. My existence is summed up in one word: agape-love.  (29-31)
            A. Consider how the one-and-only God loves fully.
            B. God wants to be loved.
            C. I will love God with all that I am:
                   desires, emotions, intellect and will.
            D. How I love God should reflect how He loves me: fully.

III. My relationship with others is summed up in the same word.
            A. Love for others begins with love for God.
                  (cf. 1 John 4:20-21)
            B. My neighbor is anyone God puts “near” me.
                  (cf. Luke 10:25-37)
            C. Encourage each other to love God.
